I'm in Perth so I can't get Dr. Brown bottles either. A lot of people have recommended Avent bottles which I am trying out at the moment.

The ones I have are wide necked which means easy to clean and less chance of spillages when your juggling a baby in one hand and trying to make a bottle with the other :)

The teat also is designed to let air flow back into the bottle. I don't know how it works but it does.

Avent states that: "The Avent Natural Feeding Bottle is doctor-recommended and the only bottle that has been clinically shown to reduce colic. The Natural Feeding Bottle features the Avent Anti-Colic Nipple: a soft, naturally shaped nipple with a unique anti-vacuum skirt and one-way air valve. This patented design ensures that liquid, not air, flows through the nipple. Less air means less discomfort for baby. Since the anti-colic feature is built right into the nipple, there are no extra parts to assemble and clean."

My girl (9months) seems very happy with it and finds it easy to hold.

Someone is also bringing out a new bottle design that is more like a breast sort of shape. The teat does look a bit weird but it could be worth you giving it a try.

If you are still wanting to try a Dr.Brown then Ebay would be the way to go but your local Woolies should stock Avent. Good luck!

I think you can order them online. There is another bottle called Mam (made by Sassy).I haven't tried this one myself, but its suppost to be the best according to the magizine that I read. I can't seem to find the Sassy ones in my area. The Playtex nursers are also a good choice.

I just found this by doing a Google search. Its an Australian website for Dr. Brown bottles and they also have the store locations where they sell them. It is www.drbrowns.com/au/.

Dr browns are a discomfort to scrub, they're full of fiddly factors and except your LO has colic and is in basic terms bottle fed i in my view does no longer advise them. i comprehend a great form of folk who use AVENT, they're often happening whether I additionally right here often that they might leak. additionally a friends daughter out proper refused the AVENT while she switched from breast to bottle. i in my view used Tommie Tippee closer to Nature bottles with my LO, I by no potential had a situation different than they stained while washed contained in the dishwasher. I used meleda bottles to shop my breast milk (I used a meleda pump), and while i develop into freezing I delivered breast milk freezer baggage. i could recommend which you in easy terms purchase a million bottle for now, breast fed little ones could be fussy and a great form of times do no longer in easy terms like the bottles, you would be able to finally finally end up having to purpose some.
