I simple cut a stem off from the main stem and pot in a good potting mix during spring. I then keep it in the shade, out of the direct sunlight for a few weeks and of course keep it damp. It works every year for me. They are very easy to take cutting from and grow.

Take semi ripe cuttings, this means the tip of the plant back to the point where the plant is starting to harden off, you can take a nodal cutting (where the leaf comes from) or a heel cutting (tear from the main stem of plant). Take the cuttings in spring when the plant is growing. Use a good hormone gel and good propagation potting mix to start them in.

You may want to take cuttings, seeing as you will be cutting back anyway. Soft wood will root easier, so take cutting near the ends of the branches, and root in either water or vermiculite.
