When it is completely quiet in a room I can hear some quiet beeping sounds from the computer. Very suddle yet very irreatating. t is not music or anything, seems like it comes from the left part of the computer. There is no CD it tries to read. Any ideas. It's a Dell inspirion 700M.

Thanks!

Dells, when they are low on battery give a slight beeping noise. Your computer may not be reading the power cable if it is already plugged in.

Is it a fast beeping and very quiet? I have heard this before, but have never found a cause. It sounds like it is coming from the processor because it happens more when I moved the mouse and actually used the computer.

Sometimes when your battery is low and it needs to be re charged it will beep or do you have a alarm set on it? I would check those things first good luck.
