is the best place to look for work, and to raise my two girls. I've asked simular questions about where in the USA, and alot of their responces was toward Texas. But where should I go in Texas. I am a single father that just wants to start our lives else where besides Oklahoma. It really sucks here. Please help!

I transferered here to Dallas/Ft.Worth after I lost my OKC job in medical imaging..I was about to run out of my 6 months unemployment benefits, looked all over OK and Colorado, finally decided to lower my prejudice against looking in Dallas and have been here now since 1987 and making good money.... but since I have no idea what you're looking for,I hope this will still help some....Good Luck to a fellow Okie!!

Hey guy, try Amarillo. Mid-size and not so expensive. The public schools there aren't such a jungle. It's just up the road from OKC on I-40.
Places like Austin are expensive (but I love the Hill Country). Places like Dallas can have you wasting your life driving back and forth. Go to the Texas Workforce Commission and get set up so you can research jobs from all over Texas. The classifieds at the library are the best bet on gettng real interviews, but the ads only happen on a Sunday.
Nothing wrong with OK. It's just Texas might have a little more opportunity for us mid-wage earners and the rent ain't so high.
Good luck. I think you're gonna like it.

come to Dallas. Once you get here find a network of people to help you get where you want to go.
You can start here with any job and work you way up.

Dallas. It has a lot of nice suburbs and a lot of jobs in varying fields. My husband and I lived there for awhile in the Valley Ranch section of Irving. It was lovely. Low crime, great schools etc.

Depends on what sort of environment you think is suitable for your family. do you want to live in a big city and raise your daughters there or in a town/countryside that is quiet.
in the end its up to you or you could ask your daughers!

What do you have experience in? Try working with a recruiter in Texas to see what your options are.
