The religious right and ultra conservatives and religious kooks freak out over Halloween because of its roots in Pagan and Wiccan traditions. They are threatened by anything that doesn't fit into their tight, perfect little box of Christianity. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Halloween, its a fun holiday for kids and adults to pretend to be something else for one night.

Halloween is a big event. Adults are dressing up as much as children, so I haven't heard anyone say it is evil. You should go to NYC where there is a big celebration in the Village.

people in america celebrate holidays but have no idea what the truly mean or were started as. halloween is from traditions like "the day of the dead" in mexico where you set out food for dead family members who return on that day to feast--hence giving out candy to ghosty dressed children. so i guess technically the way we celebrate has nothing to do with tradition-its just for fun-but the roots could be considered evil. take christmas and easter too-we don't celebrate them as christ's birth and resurection. its about santa and presents and bunnys and eggs. its truly sad, everything in america is watered down and people have no idea what the true meanings behind things are.

It's the Devils Holiday.

Yeah, right, as if Satan is going to send out his minions dressed as Papa Smurf and Ariel to get all the miniature, bite-sized, individually-wrapped Snickers bars.

Or maybe he'll come to your school and lick the frosting off all the cupcakes.

because it is a celibration of evil practices. Witch craft and satanizm and of the summoning of the forces of evil. As it is presented by the culture in America it is designed to blur the reality of the origins and intent of the practices it glorifies... if the forces of evil can make their perversions look enticing to the young they can be hooked into further evil as adults... Look at the entertainment direced at children...almost all is directed to leesen the influence of parents and increase the influence of forces opposed to any societal moral and ethical standard...
