I have made a necklace with 18 rather large coral beads, also with silver beads between them. The whole thing is kind of heavy. I have strung it on Acculon 47 stand wire and just crimped the ends with a crimping pliers. Is this going to be strong enough or should I restring and knot each bead?

If you used 2mm crimp beads, you may need to use 2 or 3 on each end for added safety. Almost all the necklaces I make are on the heavy side because I use chunky stone beads so I use 2 crimps on each end and so far have had no mishaps.

You'll probably be okay, but if you're really nervous, you may want to restring it. One of the things I like to do instead of knotting each bead is to knot each end of my thread (I prefer silk cord and knot covers). So, I'll tie a knot, slip my knot cover over it, then tie another one, then do the beads. That way, if my findings come loose I don't loose all my beads, nor do I have to go through and knot each one.

I would suggest that you knot each bead, as if you were making a pearl necklace. A little more effort, but if there is a breakage, your whole necklace won't separate into pieces. Better safe, than sorry.

i might think of that a welded joint is definitely better. in spite of the shown fact that welding of Aluminium is itself an exceptionally complicated job, and demands particular strategies & concepts to do it precise.
