Actually they do not recall ever meeting Foley. Are you sure he was a member of congress? Condi still wondering why people thought she was told Bin Laden determined to attack inside the US.

Everyone on the planet deals with tough issues. Most of them do not go proposition a teenager to deal with it.

In any place of business, a supervisor would be fired for propositioning a subordinate. It shows an inability to conduct business with professionalism. This should be no different for Congress.

As for all the hype, it's just because it's election time. Anything to smear the other party. However, any responsible Congressperson (or individual) would simply admit that Foley made some inappropriate decisions as an individual.

They are all too busy making excuses for why they didn't do anything about it when they learned. But hey, they're sorry about that. See Hastert's numerous quotes over the last week.

Thank god we can agree that they lie like the Dems but are arrogant enough to admit it right to your face. And we still vote them in to office because they are somehow more worthy of our respect than the Dems?

Here's one of my favorite Republican dodges: "Rep. Patrick McHenry, R-North Carolina, said Democrats should be investigated to see whether they leaked the explicit e-mails to gain a political advantage before the elections, although the lawmaker acknowledged he had no evidence indicating that was the case."

Why would anyone support either of them? Vote Independent.

All that is from Foley himself, or his spokesman. I'm glad the Republican leadership made him resign. Unlike what the democrats did under similar circumstances.

I don't think they are, they too busy hiding and passing the blame on to someone else.

I think it is fairly obvious now that they had been covering up for this clown since 2000.

Maybe I should check myself into rehab today, what the hell do I know besides good old fashion common sense anyways.

i havnt heard anyone excuse his behavior. we are curious as to the double standard of the democrats and the media . Foley may be a sicko but so far he didnt break any laws.

this whole thing smells of a democrat smear, Clinton and Soros fund CREW. CREW had all the information for years before sending it to ABC

the recipient of the vulgar IMs was 18 at the time and admited it was a prank. he has hired a defense lawyer.

According to many libs on here Foley exhibited normal animal behavior. I read a ton of responses just this morning that there are gay animals and this justifies gay humans. I'm sure the libs won't disagree with me here since it is what they said.

For the same reasons Democrats were making excuses for Clinton.
