Yes...I felt movement from 16w2d to 16w4d then I didn't feel anything for a few days and towards the later part of the 17th week I felt movement again and then nothing for a few days....when I got to about 22 weeks I can honestly say I felt DAILY movement so hang in there...otherwise the "feel it today and gone" tomorrow movemtns of the baby ARE normal....at about 28 wk(3rd trimester) you can start the kick count chart(10 movements in 1 hr after youve eaten and are lying on your left side)....but right now your babie's bones arent hardened so his lil movements may not be that noticable or able for you to feel at all
HOPE YOUR HAVING A BOY!!!!

Yes, the baby is still so small and has so much room to run in there, that it is normal to feel a good kick or something one day and then go days without feeling another. The doctor should walk you through the movement charts and how many you should feel how often. My doc did about 18 or 19 weeks when I went. I didn't start feeling anything daily until abour 26-28 weeks roughly. Good Luck!

This is totally normal. When I first felt my baby, I was only 14 months. I wasn't sure what it was because it would happen one day and not again for another several days.
Your baby is very small so you won't feel every movement just yet. Once he/she gets bigger, you'll feel him/her more frequently. I started feeling my baby more consistently around my 20th week. Now, there's not a day that goes by when I don't feel him. I was a little worried about it yesterday because he wasn't moving all day, but as soon as I got home last night, he was back to his normal routine. I think it was because I was on the go all day. You'll notice that when you're sitting still, that's when you'll notice the baby moving more. If you're walking around all day or just active all day, he/she will more likely be sleeping. Your movement "cradles" him/her to sleep.
Congratulations! :)

Yeah, the baby is still small in there, and you're still learning what all the feelings are him and which ones are your own body.
I went a few weeks without feeling anything from the first movements to the next. Once you hit about 20 weeks or so you will totally feel the baby move every day without question.

Yes, the baby has been moving for a long time, it's just so small you couldn't feel it. It is normal when you first notice the movements to sometimes feel it and sometimes not. When you are in your third trimester you will feel the baby moving more. Also remember that unborn babies sleep, so if you don't feel the baby moving, nudge your stomach and you should feel it move. At this early stage I wuoldn't worry about it. The baby is probably moving, you just can't always feel it. Good luck.

with you being so early on, that is normal. when you get past about 21 weeks or so and your not feeling any movements for a couple of days in a row then you should probably notify you're doctor. your baby may not be very active, but there is nothing wrong with that. i am 34 weeks and my son is extremely active. i'm afraid he may just walk out when he's ready. lol. anyways, i wouldn't be concerned right now with not feeling anything for a couple of days. some days babies are just more active than others. they are human just like us remember. some days we are full of energy and some days we just want to lay around but it doesn't mean we're not healthy.

17 weeks is still pretty early to feel regular movement. have you ever gone to www.babycenter.com? they have a pregnancy tracker and it can show you what is normal for each stage, and how big the baby is, etc... right now it's only about 7 inches long, so with all the amniotic fluid it might be hard to feel movement.

Absolutely. Your baby is so small yet that he/she still has plenty of room. Having all this extra fluid around him/her right now rocks them to sleep. You will probably start to notice more activity at night when you are at rest and no longer rocking him/her. Also, as your baby grows you will feel more movement on a regular basis. Best of luck for a healthy pregnancy, delivery and baby!!

I'm not sure but did you try drinking some OJ? The sugar will wake the baby up. Maybe your baby sleeps during the day as you move around and is awake at night when you sleep?
