There an infinite number of fractions between 1/4 and 1/2, just as there are between any to points. You could start with 3/8, then 7/16, then 15/32, and so on, but there are points between each of these examples the fit your original questions. I know this maybe harder than just say 1/3 of 3/8 but this is more accurate.

There are infinitely many such fractions.
To find one, average the 2 fractions:
1/4 + 1/2 = 3/4
3/4 /2 = 3/8.
To get another average 1/4 and 3/8.
You can keep this up forever and find infinitely
many such fractions!
