Isn't there a True Life special on that on MTV next week? I want to tune into that.

But yeah I do. This one girl, Jenifer, sits next to me in my English class. Every minute she flings her pencil at me, (by accident) or like the desk shakes cause she twitches. That's why she never writes in pen.

But she gets past this, and she is the nicest girl you will ever meet.

My young son has Tourettes, OCD and ADHD. Some days are better than others. He does have a few true friends that don't notice or just don't care that he has extra movements/sounds that he makes. He's just fun to be around! Tourettes is only a small part of who he is.

I find that most people take their cue by watching me. When I treat him "normally", most people follow suit. He is treated with the same love and respect as anyone. He has chores and homework, like everyone else.

If you want to do something, visit http://www.tsa_usa.org and look around. Educate yourself about the condition. Education is the key to acceptance.

View this Emmy Winning documentary "I Have Tourettes, But Tourettes Doesn't Have Me". It was produced by HBO and the TSA.

This is also an uplifting, inspiring book "Front of the Class, How Tourettes Syndrome Made Me The Teacher I Never Had", by Brad Cohen.

Yes, my cousin has it. I feel bad for the way she is treated too, she just wants so badly to fit in but her mother finds it necessary to tell everyone she meets about it, which in turn just makes everyone treat her differently.

I use to work with a guy that had it. It was difficult, especially to see people around him that didn't understand what was going on with him. People can be so cruel sometimes.

Yes I do. It is very difficult to stay friends with them if they won't take their medication.
