Only you can decide this, as we have no idea what you're specialising in or what you're interested in!
I would suggest that you chose something that you're interested in though, as opposed to something you think would be easy to do. You may not be as passionate about the latter, therefore it would come across in your dissertation. If you choose something you're passionate about or enjoy, you're more likely to put more energy into it and strive to do better - a dissertation is a major piece of work and you don't want to lose interest halfway through!
You also need to ensure that you do it on a subject where you can get some info on it - nothing too obscure where you won't be able to find anything. Then again, don't do anything that's far too popular where there's loads of info and many other people have done it before!

"From the fury of the North Men, O Lord deliver us" - Bede.
Is the common view of the vikings correct? If not, then who were the real vikings?
This would be a great dissertation topic as you could use lots of fantastic places and documents as case studies. The archaeology of the viking along with the sagas and other historical documents paints a compelling image. The viking Kings like Svein Forkbeard and his son Cnut are also fantastic larger than life figures to write about.
Good luck and get high marks!

Pick something obscure, but that does have information you can use for sources. I did a history thesis once on a little known Confederate cavalry platoon in Kentucky during the Civil War. It was obscure enough that it had not been 'done to death' by others, but there was still lots of information to collect sources from. (I had to use books that were on reserve at my library that were over a hundred years old!) It was a fun paper and in the end I got an A.

At the risk of sounding dull the caravan clubs is 100 years old next year. How about how tourism has evolved and change our perceptions of others culture.
Choose a topic you're interested in music, a country the monarchy, the populous. The whole point of a discertation is to pose a question you think you have an answer to, research it and then decide if the answer has changed following that research.

I'm fascinated by English history between 1500-1600 especially during the rein of King Henry VIII. If you're a woman you can write about his wives, perhaps his first Kathrine of Aragon. She was a very interesting person with strong beliefs.

Take a subject where you can't be told you have got it wrong like the real beginnings of Christianity Look at the similarities between the Christ myth and earlier/concurrent gnostic cults/religions. There is not too much evidence but you can actually use your brain to make logical deductions.
Isn't that supposed to be the point of your education to learn to use your brain?

A friend of mine did his on Witches and Wizards. I suppose you could do it on folk law in general. It sounds very interesting to me.
If you want something more grounded I'd do World War II but be careful as it was not that long ago and there will be a huge amount of information to go through.

How about the slave trade in america and how the americans who purchased them thought of them and so on. For all their talk of freedom and so on it wasn't that long ago, and still many are being mistreated, are not provided with the same equality in the judicial system, and the majority still live in poverty in America.
Like Jesus said don't look at the speck in your brother's eye but take the log out of your own eye.
