Take you a tablespoon of baking soda to let the gas pass through your system. You should belch or pass gas right away. Drink plenty of water behind it. Make sure you get enough water in your system. Eat plenty of fruit and grains in your diet. Please try it, it works. The baking soda neutralizes the acids in your stomach causing you to belch.

The best and safest thing you can do is FIBER FIBER and FIBER. Get a lot of fiber rich foods such as whole grains, good healthy cereals, beans etc. Drink at least 64 oz of water a day. Take a brisk walk as well. All those things will get things moving along great. If you were just in the hospital for a kidney infection and you're having trouble with constipation, you are obviously dehydrated!
Be careful with the prunes. If you eat too many, you can cause yourself some severe gastric pain. Be sensible.

Constipation is a serious issue. For professional advice, you should consider visiting a doctor.
But hey, since you asked about that, let me give you my answer - I, an ex-constipated person... :)
Yes, during pregnancy, my constipation got worse, ending up with hemorroids... Bad thing! Fortunately, I did some reading and now, after ... some years (won't say :), I'm fine.
Don't rely on PILLS/drugs! The effect fades in time, and the problem is still unsolved. Since constipation is directly related to what we eat... you can figure out WHAT you have to change. And quickly!
Your eating habits!
1. Drink plenty of water. Even if you don't feel like... At least 6 glasses per day. Try to reach 8... in time
2. Have a soup/broth for lunch and/or dinner
3. Get whole wheat bread, rich in fiber. I don't advise breakfast cereals, they are over processed - I have terrible aches after eating them. But I do eat (pure) wheat bran with yougurt and feel fine!
4. Avoid over processed food
5. Eat weekly spinach, cabbage, lettuce, zucchini. Cooked properly, spinach can be very tasty - search for recipes on the net. Spinach did wonders for me! And cabbage to! Raw or cooked.
6. Eat more fruits and veggies (especially raw)
7. Have yougurt (with 3-4 spoons of bran) from time to time - Ihave that every 2-3 days.
8. Try and get a laxative HERBAL tea, for the beginning, to help you solve the problem. In time, you will not need it any more, when you adjust your eating habits!
Be careful! Unsolved, constipation can lead to other serious problems... Treat it with care!
Take care!

A cup of espresso and a cigarette I have heard of a BigMac doing the process - I surely could now not advocate the consuming of plastic for medication regardless that. As you're at the choice medication web page I could advocate just a typical wholefood corresponding to CHIA SEEDS aka Happy seeds. They are jam full of fibre, aid with melancholy, brief concentration span, middle dis-ease, they're an anti inflammatory, lowers top blood strain, fine for diabetes, thins the blood - honestly it could be less complicated to record what they DON'T do. HINT; If the meals are not able to flip dangerous - it's dangerous for you. "When vitamin is WRONG, medication is of no need. When vitamin is CORRECT, medication is of little need" An old Ayuverdic proverb.

They let you leave the hospital with out having a bowel movement?????? That is NOT allowed...call your doctor..NOW!!
Hummmmm, all the advice(well, with one notable exception--we aren't the spelling police)I would be astounded if you aren't dehydrated please note that antibiotics and pregnancy do not mix well and the same is definitely true of almost ALL over the counter drugs... CALL THE DOCTOR! If you were not PG that would be an entirely different thing but well..you get my drift.

Enema by the end of today if a laxative doesn't work - bet they had you on a pain killer in the hospital. That will shut you down and clog you up - which they should have checked for before discharging you yesterday. It is potentially serious, so call you doctor.

The best and most natural way to regulate your bowel movements is fiber and water .... LOTS of water. Stock up on apples, broccoli, cauliflower and any other fruit or raw vegetable that you like. People need at least 8 glasses of water a day, to promote a healthy digestive system. It's said that 60% if people don't do this.
So, eat them veggies and drinks lots of water gurl ... best wishes to you and your little one!!

Prunes, or Syrup of Figs. Don't take laxatives, it could harm the baby.
Oh, the blueberries is a good recommendation.
