I'm in Austin, TX and looking for a plastic surgeon who specializes in rhinoplasty. Are there any associations that "matter" more than others? For example, a friend said to only consult with surgeons who are members of the ADA; but many of the plastic surgeons I've found online aren't, but there's many who are members of the "American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery" and others similar to that. Do these matter? Are some "credentials" better than others, if so, which do I pay attention to? Thanks!

What you want to look for is a board certified plastic surgeon certified with the American Board of Plastic Surgery. A good surgeon will not just try to talk you into surgery for the sake of taking your money either. They will try to find out the reasons for your decision for a consultation and tell you all the risks and benefits of the surgery it's self. Check with the ABPS for a certified surgeon in your area.

Good rhinoplasty specialists do not necessarily have to be ADA members. I would recommend you find a good face specialist, that is, a plastic surgeon who dedicates his activity mainly to face procedures such as the rhinoplasty. Check out http://www.surgeryabroadguide.com for more useful info.

Rhinoplasty surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Forerunners Healthcare .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.
