i have completed downloading the new version for 2007 and i was scared to learn that my machine is noew contaminated

YES who is more qualified to distribute trojans, spyware, etc., than the companies who profit from protecting people against the trojans, etc.....

follow the advice and get avg anti-virus its free!

Norton doesn't scan spywares, McAfee does scan both. You can get a free anti-spyware AVG and use it to removes spywares. It work for me and I am very well satisfied.

Depends where you downloaded it from.

If you got it from there site - there is no chance.

But from another site - they are always risks.

Don't use Norton. Download for free AVG Anti Virus from www.download.com
