some years ago one of my friends was a lesbian and she invited us to the local gay bar.
like we all do i had my own idea on what it would be like but when we got there i thought she'd took us to a non gay club my thoughts of how it would feel and how people would act was totally wrong. we really enjoyed ourselves the people and the atmosphere was great. i realised that night has great a friend she was and how accepting i am of gay people i had been wary for all the wrong reasons i apologised to her

Well I think its a yes and a no. Would it be a gay club if straight people go there? But it is a free country (for now) but you are open for offers from gays and if you dont want to be chatted up by gays then you are in the wrong place.
I know people who go and are str8 but I cant help thinking it defeats the object of it being gay, Its where gays go to meet and socilalise and pull! They may be gutted when you tell them you are str8.

Why wouldn't it be? If someone hits on you, just be respectful and explain that you're not into that. I don't know from experience (small town here... only 2 real clubs), but from my understanding, the gay clubs are often some of the most popular places in town for everyone.

Of course you should. As a real life gay (shocking!) I'd much rather all clubs were 'mixed', as that's the only way to get rid of discrimination. As long as gay clubs and gay communities exist as separate and exclusive zones for people, straight people won't accept it as normal. (Please, no one take offence at the words 'gay', 'straight', or 'normal'!). Go and enjoy yourself. I'd never ever question whether I should go to a 'straight' club!

I would think so. Why would you be apprehensive about entering a gay club? I am 'straight' (hate that term) and i have been in gay clubs and pubs, and have had a fantastic time.

hell yeah, I've went to some and struck up a nice converestaion with some gay guys, of course I had one hit on me, which kind of confused me. But, then you sit there and look around and realize why aren't straight guys this good looking?

Yes of course. But some are more "straight friendly" than others. Here in Newcastle its not been a problem but I hear in London they can be a bit territorial.
