It was the horror movie that changed all horror movies in the U.S. Before it, they were no movie ratings. People were so disturbed they had to start rating movies. It has spawned 3 sequels, 2 remakes (with another on the way), and numerous spinoffs. Return of the Living Dead was a result of the co-producer losing a legal battle over the rights and taking the idea into another direction. It is still the cream of the crop and zombies rule!!! Pittsburgh was a great location for it!

The culture of Vietnam-era America had a tremendous impact on the film. It is so thoroughly riven with critiques of late 1960s American society that one historian described the film as "subversive on many levels."While not the first zombie film made, Night of the Living Dead influenced subsequent films in the sub-genre. The film is the first of five Living Dead films (completed or pending) directed by Romero.

On top of that, I met Romero about 6 months ago and he is a great guy. Was really trying to make a statement. Posed for pics and gave autographs. Rare these days for a guy to care about the fans so much.

Yeah, I saw maybe 15 minutes of it. Scared the ***t out of me. I was young. George filmed that in Pittsburgh. It's a hop and a skip away from where I live. I met the guy some years back. Got his picture and autograph.

Yes. I've seen it twice. Once on t.v and once when I woke up this morning and looked in the mirror. Great show and it scared the hell out of me ...both times!
