Hi Rammy,
You've been given some poor information here. Submitting your site to the search engines does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to help your search engine ranking. It's a waste of time and in fact if you do it too much you can end up having your site flagged as spam which will make it even harder to get a good ranking.
I wrote about this subject in more depth here : http://www.adambunn.co.uk/search-engine-submission.php
To geta good search ranking you should concentrate on 3 areas: making sure your site is accessible to search engines; creating quality original content on a regular basis; and finally 'linkbuilding' - the process of attracting and acquiring links to your site.
Again, a huge topic and one which I have written a free introductory guide to, which you are quite welcome to download, here: http://www.adambunn.co.uk/seo-beginners.php
One problem you have is you don't have any control over your domain (since it's a piczo website). It will depend on what searches you are trying to show up for, but you might not be able to achieve it.
Good luck!

Well there are a vast amount of websites that can do this job for you, if you have the time and money of course. Your ISP can do some of those things for you if they have that service.
Just do a search for "search engine registration" or something similar and see how many pages come up. You may want to pick out the larger ones as it means you have better linkage for your site.

Most search engines have a facility to 'add your url'. Go to the home page of Pizco and look for it. Also you might like to try Addme.com who will submit to major search engines but you have to be patient till they appear.
One way to speed this up is get a personalised homepage on Google and Yahoo, then add a link to your website under 'add content'.
Because Google and Yahoo index their own pages every day, the link will get noticed.
But all these things take time, with billions of web pages waiting to be indexed.

You need to go to each search engine website and submit your website.
The link below will enable you to go directly to the page you need to do this quickly and easily for the big 3 search engines: yahoo.com, google.com and msn.com.
