Do smokers deserve to be respected?

Crikey! You've kick us out of the restaurants. You've banned us from bars. You've banned us within 20 feet of a business. You've banned us from the public beach. You,ve removed us from the work place.
Get over it and stop your petty whining. I think the exhaust from a vehicle/truck burning diesel fuel on a crowded freeway is worst for you than my smoke passing by your face for a split second. I don't see you moanin' about that.

Well, it is annoying but people should not be judged by if they smoke. If you dont like the things they do then the simple solution is to not hang around them. It that easy. In fact the non smokers are winning the battle because many cities are banning smoking in public places so there are many places that non smokers can go to avoid the annoying second hand smoke.
Just something to think about.

It is! I used to share an office with a smoker and it was like I turned into a smoker myself. At the end he started he fire in his bin and was forced by the management to smoke only during his breaks OUTSIDE. I don't work there anymore, but I run into that person now and then and he just STINKS of cigarettes. I sure am sorry if you are in such a predicament, make sure you protest loudly.

I don't enjoy being a secondhand smoker, but not really much i can do about it, they have rights too, I have the right to just stay away from them when they light up.

I dislike it when smokers smoke right by the doorways to buildings, kind of defeats the purpose when we have to walk right through their smoke to get to where we go. HELLO???!!!! Also, It also digusts me when they drop their ciggy butts on the roadways when they are done smoking them in their cars...that is ILLEGAL people! A lot of FIRES are started that way. If you ever hear a honk behind you after you litter, yes, that is me!

I have associates who smoke. They consider me when they smoke. So in turn I give them respect, but in general it seems smokers try to be rude.

Yes, but they also need ot respect a bystander's wishes to not have smoke around them at that moment.
