don't move the stickers because if you do it'll never be solvable.

there's a really good book out there too that shows you all the different move techniques to get pieces from one place to another.

I've found success with the Rubiks Cube by never picking it up. If it stays the way the factory made it then I can't possibly screw it up.

When I was around 5 or 6 my Dad solved his. Being his son I wanted to do it too.
I finished it less than 1 hour. I had to use a hammer to get hte last piece together.
Dad bragged about his son taking his Cube apart to solve it. Thought it was great.
It's all been down hill since. I think I peaked way to soon in life.
SIGH.
HAHAHAHHA

Give it to a child and watch carefully. Kids have no preconceived ideas about the "right" or "wrong" way to do these puzzles, they just DO them. DO NOT peel off the stickers. What would be the point of that? The only person you need to "impress" is yourself!
Puzzles like this one are a good way to develop patience, stamina, and determination. Don't give up! Go to a cheat site if you must, but, give yourself a chance first.

There are various sequences of moves that can do various functions. For example when you look at the cube and you decide you want to switch two cubes you can follow a memorized pattern of moves. To solve a cube you therefore need to memorize all these sequences. You usually start out by solving just one side and then you start expanding to the other sides.

When they 1st came out in the 70's I could do them; at first, it took hours, but with much practice, you can probably get 1 done in about 5-10 minutes.

Actually this hard to explain, but, I will try.
DO NOT think!!!!!! You have to start working the Rubik's Cube but do not try to think how to line anything up. Then what happens is your Sub-Conscience takes over and you just figure it out, unknowingly. It actually simple when you learn this concept, but, you do not want distractions.
