Nothing special. A sunny morning has nothing to do with it

The Moon is not always above the horizon! If you see the Moon in the morning, it must be past Full Moon. A Full Moon rises at sunset and sets at sunrise. A Third Quarter Moon rises at midnight and sets at noon. A New Moon rises at sunrise and sets at sunset.

Right now the Moon is between Full and Third Quarter (waning gibbous), so it is still above the horizon in the morning for a little while.

It is called nothing, technically the moon is ALWAYS there, however the sun blocks out our vision of it with the bright rays. When you can see it during the day, then the moon is closer than usual, or the sun is less bright than usual.
