Yes, especially due to the prenatal pills. Best advice, take some stool softner (Ask Dr. First), enhance your fiber and drinks lots of water. I started eating 1 cup of raisin bran in the morning, sometimes a little for dinner. If you're taking those pills you should drinks a lot of water anyway.

Yes and it was horrible. But you should NOT take stool softeners. They contain stimulants that can cause problems. Best things to do is increase your fiber and drink LOTS AND LOTS of water. Try aiming for more like 10-12 glasses a day rather than eight. Whole wheat bread, popcorn, look in the cracker isle for some wheat thins or Triscits or something too. Good Luck! I know it's horrible!

I did several times during my pregnancy. My suggestion is to drink lots and lots of water and eat veggies several times a day. Eat foods high in fiber! Try to stay away from stool softeners if you can because you can help constipation with diet!

In my first pregnancy I had it bad all the time so (doctor recommanded) I started taking fiber supplements everyday with my prenatal. Now in my second pregnancy I am doing the same thing.

Ask your doctor about taking a fiber supplement along with your prenatal, it should help keep you regular.

Yes, in fact the constipation is due to the pre-natal vitamins. If you are not taking vitamins then you need to drink more water and usually if you drink warm water........like tea.......coffee......warm milk it will help facilitate a bowel movement. Congratulations on your new little life !!!
Good Luck !!!

Yes it usually stems from the increase iron levels from your prenatal pills....

talk to your doctor regarding a safe laxative you may be able to take while pregnant since not taking increase iron is not an option.

Oh yes i did have that option, so i increase my fiber intake with my food.... whole wheat bread, bran cereals.... for example...

Yes, this is very common and is often caused by those darn iron pills. Drink a lot of water, eat fruit/fiber and get exercise(walking).

I SUFFERED CONSTIPATION IN EARLY PREGNANCY BECAUSE OF THE IRON IN THE PRENATAL VITAMINS. DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS, SUCH AS APPLE JUICE AND IT WILL HELP SOFTEN THE STOOL. THERE IS A STOOL SOFTENER NAME DULCOLAX. ASK YOUR DOCTOR IF HE COULD GIVE YOU SOME IF IT BECOMES TOO BOTHERSOME.
