Hi,
The robot has 3 robots already .
So it has to build 31 - 3 = 28 robots.
Each day , it builds 2 robots . So it take 28/2 = 14 Days to finaly have 31 robots.

If the alien does not join a union -- 14 days (14 time s 2 is 28; 28 plus three is 31). If the alien joins a union, I estimate completion of the task within the third fiscal year.
