Man can think, what is right and what is wrong. There is no evidence of this kind about animals. Because of the thinking of man, we can say animals are better placed.

Not an answer to your question, but maybe this anecdote will amuse you.
When the Greek philosopher Plato gave Socrates's definition of man as "featherless bipeds" he was much praised for the definition. But Diogenes the Cynic plucked a **** and brought it into Plato's school, and said, "This is Plato's man." After this incident, "with broad flat nails" was added to Plato's definition.

We kill each other willingly,whilst an animal only kills to eat.We can make choices, animals cannot:they follow their instincts.We have logic,do they?We have speech,do they?
