OWIE!!!
It sounds like you may have brused deep tissue. It is possible to bruse your bones, and you may have done that. I have had a bone bruse before and unfortuneatly, there is nothing anyone can really do for it.
Take ibuprophen on a regular basis, alternate heat and cold on the bruise and achy area, and keep an eye on it. If it becomes worse, or new symptoms occur, go to a doctor to have it checked out.

- Get to hospital and have a doctor look at the leg.
Depending on how one lands, hair line fractures are not an impossibility as are torn ligaments and displaced nerves that traverse knee to spine.
- If a doctor is not available, have the knee raised above chest level when sleeping.
This is to alleviate swelling by allowing blood flow to return to the body more quickly. When seated, similarly have the knee raised or be in a reclined position. Apply cold packs to the affected area to reduce inflammation.
- Check the soles of your shoes. Buy or use more practical shoes to reduce further similar accidents in places where it is likely to be slippery.
- Do not waste time and money with lawsuits and appeals.
The issue should have been resolved at the time of the incident while it was fresh in the minds of people.
If the injury is serious, post event legal recourse is a lot more troublesome to recover medical costs. Field questions to local legal firms specialising in industrial due negligence.
Common grounds of negligence include wet floors without due warning like clear signage and a barrier around the affected area. Action must be taken by the company to remove the potential hazard within reason time.

Hairline fractures and ligament pulls can be very tricky as they tend to show the results of the trauma slowly after initial injury. Don't mess around with this. Get to a doctor and insist on xrays.. Especially if you have a "horrible bruise".
The other main ligament in the knee is the ACL, or anterior cruciate ligament. This ligament stretches from the bottom of the thigh to the top front of shin bone. This is a commonly damaged ligament, and treatment is essential. You can tear this ligament by suddenly changing directions while running, stopping quickly, running downhill, twisting your knee, or simply from receiving a powerful blow to the knee. When you fully tear your ACL, you should hear a distinctive popping sound. The symptoms include swelling, difficulty walking, knee locking during walking, and pain and tenderness. Serious tears usually require surgery, special exercises and rehabilitation for many months. You may be 100% after 8 or 9 months.
Ligament injuries can be serious, but they are rare. In many cases, the tear is minimal and can be treated with rest, ice, and compression. Playing with a ligament tear can weaken your ligament beyond repair, causing weakness in the limb for the rest of your life.

Leg pain, lawsuit, yahoo answers, lol
YOu do not have a big injury. If you wanna sue, then tell them that, however, you are just sore from the pressure supplied to the upper leg and the attempt to catch yourself and hurting yourself worse. Its common, not a serious issue... you just have to suck it up for about 3 days. THis is no different from pro athletes and them injuring areas such as the shoulder, hamstring, or growing area. I think you caught yourself from seriously hurting yourself and that leg is just sore from the support. Use some icey hot, ibuprofen, or some good rest for a day and you should be doing good. On the lawsuit aspect, Walmart has the best lawyers ever, where they do alot of illegal **** but get away with it, from immigrant work, illegal trash dumping, selling items less than they paid, and knocking out local business where laws protect us to all be competitors. They never loose, because of money power, but they do pay people off. Maybe check local attorneys, just to see what they say, but do not be anticipating multi-million lawsuits. It helps when walmart is contacted and you have power to tell others the hardships you faced, such as newspaper editors, news broadcasters, teachers, and other leaders that could spread a bad name for them. But like i said, they're very powerful... get some rest and chill out. Hope ya feel better and good luck!

It's probably just bruising, but there is definitely potential for a compression type fracture. See a doctor. The femur is the largest bone in the body, and an injury to it can be quite serious.

You definitely could have serious injuries. You should file a claim w/Walmart and see a doctor. Once you have been given your diagnosis you will know your treatment plan.
I would not put it off though, if you end up having problems and wait to file a claim, you may have a harder time getting them to accept it.
Good luck.
