Can anyone really believe that a repressive government such as Communist China would let a pipsqueak country like North Korea, which borders China, field a million-man army and play with nuclear weapons without Beijing's consent? If China showed no qualms about brutally occupying Tibet, why would it let North Korea act on its own?

In the Korean "Peace Keeping" the U.S. got involved in, herds of red Chinese fought on behalf of Korea. I don't know that any allegiances have changed.
