Yes, in some ways mental abuse is worse than physical abuse because it targets who you are, lowers self esteem, and causes depression. Mental scars last longer than physical scars.

It can be. Mental abuse slowly takes away a persons self esteem and self worth over time. I've seen outgoing, full of life people turn into shy, quiet, nervous people with no self respect because of mental abuse. It's very hard to get yourself back once you've been torn down for so long.

Yes, mental abuse, is sometime worse then physical abuse. Cause if a person or persons treat you bad, your selfesteem could go way down and, you might wind up doing something you don't want to do. Cause you feel so bad about yourself,
Peace :-)

I am a survivior and must say that physical is better than mental abuse. NOT saying that either one is good, but you can take Advil for the physical abuse. The mental abuse takes years (if you ever get over).

We do not limit abuse to the physical. Mental abuse is brought about by the use of foul, threatening, vile, intimidating, or condescending type language (not fully spelled out here).. Constant use of any form of vituperative towards another person is just as harmful as physical abuse. In addition, the use of abusive language oftentimes elevates to phsical abuse.

Yes, the physical hurts heal, the mental hurts can stay a life time. Neither one is good, and should "never" be tolerated by anyone for any reason. Period!

You cannot put in earplugs to prevent physical abuse, so I would say no, mental abuse is not as bad.
