Guys does this happen very often? It was on a bulletin (appearing to be a friend) and it directed me to a screen, which looks like a MySpace log in screen, so you just enter you details, user name and password, thankfully I have just changed my password, hopefully this should do the trick!

Do anyone know anything about this at all?
Thanks!

That is not hacking, that is simply a scam, which you fell for.
Hacking involves actually accessing the MySpace.com database and editting your profile from there, while what happened to you was different. Hacking MySpace is incredibly difficult and rare.
Just remember to always check the URL of the site you are signing in to. Do not trust that it is MySpace just because it looks like it.

Hi Emma,

Anytime anyone sends you something that puts you on a screen asking for sign up or log on information never ever trust it.

A quick way to tell if it may be legit is on the e-mail where the link is......right click on that link and click properties. This will show you the real link address. If you don't know it delete it.

Scammers can make it look like you are getting it from someone you know as well as a like you know but behind the scene they are after something.

Best of luck to you.

Yes, this is a very common scam. You can avoid this in the future by making sure that any page you enter your login information on is really on the MySpace site--login on the MySpace.com home page, or make sure that myspace.com/ is in the address bar at the top of your browser. If you rely on the last one, though, make sure that it ONLY says myspace.com/ and doesn't have anything else after it. A lot of scammers will put a subdomain on their webpages so that it looks like a part of the MySpace site.

This is a common re-direction scam. Keep an eye out for the little gold padlock on the IE status bar. No padlock = not secure.
