if you follow maeslow heirachy of needs, then it's something called self esteem. if you followed the guy who asked why answer questions , then we are just small kids looking for approval.for others they just want to get points so that they can ask all the questions that they want. if you asked me the i say that i'm just a smart *** who just like to show off by answering questions(i actually just like to share.) i hope that this will answer your question, if not then please elabourate.
God bless,

Is that the reality?
Our minds are filled with knowledge and not much else.
A question is seeking further knowledge as in an answer.
This is what the human mind does over and over and over.
To really answer your question one must enquire into the nature of the mind.
From an egoic mind set to answer a question does many things.
Adds to the ego, helps, which adds to the ego, shows i know and you dont, which adds to the ego, power through knowing, being clever, which adds to the ego etc etc.
Man is driven by his mind untill such time that he can answer the one question.
Is what i think, believe I am, true, or a mere construct of the mind.
I wouldnt say man, a person or persona is driven to answer by a mind that has little understanding of itself, through itself and by itself.
