Well if you currently have an old style modem then you will need a new DSL (Broadband) modem from Dell. If you already have a DSL modem then, if dell is offering it free, just pick up a spare just in case. You will probably find the modem that dell gives you will be a basic USB one anyway and that is no good for networking to. You need a DSL modem/router if you intend to network other PC's to the Broadband connection. They sually put Network cards in but you can never be sure, though some come onboard anyway.

No you need nothing. All you need to check is that there is a live Ethernet port for you to plug (via a CAT5 Ethernet cable) into the Ethernet adapter on the back of the new PC. It sounds as if someone in the office has configured other PC's so you may have IT support internally or a maintenance contract.

Faxmodem is usually for dial up internet/networks. If you have broadband already available through your existing office network, all you need is a network interface card (NIC).

If you want to use the PC to send/receive faxes, then you should get the modem. Check whether your office has a digital or analogue (or IP!) phone system though.

Otherwise, no you don't need it.
