What is bad about having five points taken away? Isn't this point system a lot like getting stars stuck by your name on a poster hanging on the bulletin board in kindergarten. It is a method of control based on a pretend symbolic sytem with no concrete value that is bought into by the group of children, right? So those of you interested in the point system are just pretending it has some real value, correct? Why worry about it? It is not really needed is it? Are we past kindergarten or not?

U said right, I don't know why we add so many points by answering, I asked question too, but I prefer to ans as much as possible.
And I think that after reaching 2nd level we should try to ask more questions coz now we have 40 questions to ans which gave us 80 points and 10 we can ask, costs only 50. That means we save 30 points then too.

You are just trying to sound smart, give me my 2 points. Since you ask a question like this, why are you on level 2? That means you take in some type of value as well right? ha ha

We have this mentality that "when you get to the top, you're a winner" and it just cant be shaken away. The more points they accumulate, the more they want to reach a higher level. No matter where we are, we can't help but compete with each other.
l'm not as driven as the others. Don't know if its good or bad.

I answer questiuons when I am work because I am bored and I like to help people out, especially if I have been through the issue they are going through. I ask questions though too, so I guess not all of give a crap anbout points....I agree....it is like we are in kindergarden.

I wanted to work up to level 2 so I could rate questions and answers. Now that I'm here, I don't much worry about it.

I don't anymore actually. I just wanted to get to level 5 so that I wasn't hitting the "you have reached your quota for the day for questions/answers" --- I don't care now. Once you have 5000 pts you have unlimited questions/answers.

Why does anyone follow sports and have favorite teams? Why does anyone collect stamps or horseflies? Why does anyone have a music library? It's a game - it's interesting, it's fun, it's a challenge, and every day I learn something new to me, too. ;-)

why do you think people try? is it because you are concern and therefore, you believe everyone else is concern? or is it because you have taken a poll and found that people want the points? or, because you feel that the same people are the ones who continue to ask questions?

what is your reason for asking anyway...?
