Neil amstrong and Edwin aldrin ARE THE FIRST TO LAND ON MOON

2006-10-09 04:46:59 · answer #1 · answered by HEMNATH 2 · 4 0

Okay. Everyone now knows that Commander Neil A. Armstrong and Lunar Module Pilot Edwin 'Buzz' Aldrin were the first men to walk and talk on the surface of the moon. However, as a footnote, it's not commonly known as to what were the EXACT words spoken as Armstrong first stepped on the surface. To quote: "That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind." Most people remember the famous quote without the "a", because it was difficult to hear, so Armstrong had actually been misquoted. After analyzing the audio recordings, it was determined that Armstrong did indeed say it right after all. I guess the history books will have to be amended.

Ok, Neil Armstrong, followed a few minutes later by Buzz Aldrin. Michael Collins was also on the mission, but stayed in Lunar orbit and did not walk on the moon that time. BTW....it was the Apollo 11 mission, not Apollo 13. 13 did not land on the Moon, there was an explosion in the service module, and the Astronauts barely made it home.

Also, Uri Gegarin was the first human in space, he did not go to the moon.

Apollo 13 carrying Neil Armstrong and his crew was the biggest and most natural film shot by the NASA to prove their dominance against the Russians......
even some NASA scientists analyzed the pics of the first man on moon and the results were amazing...... it's looking as bright as Saturday night baseball on ESPN.... it's the biggest staged drama....
i happened to watch this as a documentary in national geographic channel...

Neil Armstrong was the first man we know of to ever set foot on the moon. I can't remember who was second, and for that I'm ashamed, because I watched it on live television with just about everyone else on the planet who had tv.
NASA has great web pages and all the history is there.

I do remember Sheppard, Griffin, and White, however. The first NASA astronaut deaths. It's the same day my dad got drunk and broke his neck, and he got drunk because they died. I will always remember that event.
