I know Safeway and M&S are in Gibraltar but do you think the Spanish Gov have stopped M&S, Sainsbury's, Tescos etc, setting up in Marbella - they would do so well here?

I have lived in Martbella for 12 years and can tell you with certainty that there is no sainsbuty or Mand S.

There is an M and S in gibraltar and 70 km away and there also is a morrison previously safeway. The only ENGLISH shops we have in Marbella are Accessorise, top shop and dorothy perkins. Hope this helps

M&S would possibly, but i like to look at local produce and Tesco and Sainsbury would be important things just for the brits....its nice when you go away to have local food cooked by locals. When I was in marbella last year, it was lovely on the beach.......there was a guy cooking a huge paella, seemed weird that he was cooking a huge pan on a scolding hot day, but everyone had some...including me and it was lovely, washed down with a cool beer........I loved the market up by the bull ring too......i think it was a saturday morning....I bought a lovely bag

None in Benidorm either, Thank goodness.all they would do is force prices up on the pretext that they have to import their goods from the UK. Thier are plenty of shops that sell Brit food anyway

Yes and it would put all the local farmers who sell their lovely produce out of business. I dont want packet crap and genetically farmed fruit/veg in Spain, I go there to get away from it here!

You could always be very daring, and buy local produce.
