Family will always support you. you need to get advice from someone who will be totally honest and answer the question: "Do I have what it takes, am I wasting my time, or do I just need more practice?" Someone who can't dance can always learn how to dance...someone who can't sing...well, we've all seen American Idol and know that some dreams cannot become reality (except for William hung). You gotta have the right dedication, attitude, stamina, and spirit to dance. If you want it that bad, you can get it. All the best to you and your dream.

Most important is rather to figure out what kind of person you really want to be. Is it realistic? If you dream of getting fantastically rich and famous and beautiful but you're terribly shy and have no talent for making money, then maybe you run the risk of creating a life-long disappointment for yourself instead. Look deeper. What qualities do you have that are worth developing in order to become a person you'd be satisfied with. That will bring you real happiness and gratification in life. Is it important to be kind and honest, to have good relationships to people that matter in your life - or is achievement the most important? I know what I'd vote for. And dance? Just dance. Let it bring you and others joy and if you're drive is strong enough you might get to do it a lot and maybe even get paid for it. If that's what you really want. Is it?

No. If you just relax, you might become the person who you really are. Then people will relly like you, because you will be genuine, not all forced and fake. Sure, even as your true self, not everyone will like you, but NO ONE likes a poser. as for dancing, practice, practice, practice. Devote a large part of your life to it, and with perserverence you shall not fail. Most posers will get discouraged and give up soon enough, making it easier for the genuine soul and hard worker to succeed.

Well dear, the problem today is, that children are told that they can be whatever they dream. Unfortunately, in the real world, this is not so. I for instance would have liked to be Champion of the World at Soccer - but as I have no coordination whatsoever - that is never going to happen.

So, you my never reach your dream, but that should not stop you trying and enjoying life on the way.

Good Luck

If you work hard and truly believe in yourself (not the kind where you only think you believe in yourself, but the deep down know it in you soul type) you will do what you want to be, oh and not letting others drive you from your path is always a help too. :D

If you work hard to acheive your goals then nothing can stand in your way to become the dancer you want to be. Just practice and dedicate yourself to it. Good luck.
Cheers.

You can be what ever you want to be, you can do what ever you want to do as long as it is in good taste. It's all up to you, you half to look yourself in the mirror and decide that, that is what you are going to do and stick to it. Times will be hard, but you can't give up.

You will find that your ideas of who you want to be change as you mature and get new experiences. Do the best you can and be flexible. And don't judge yourself by other's accomplishments.
