Should I buy pens or pencils?

My birthday is coming and in school I want to give everybody notebooks. So with the notebooks i can't choose if I should buy pens with the notebook or pencils.

Nobody likes pencils....they're for children. Buy some pens.

Pencils....so much more forgiving and allows greater opportunity for creativity
