tell her not to use any ones hat or brush or comb. keep her hair in a ponytail or braid this will help prevent lice from snagging on to her hair. lice Love clean hair!!! Lice is not hard to get rid of by the way, but if you are really concerned, talk to the school nurse for more advice.

You can not prevent head lice unless you homeschool your daugheter and never let her socialize with anyone.
Lice can live off of the head for several hours. They don't care if you are clean or dirty. Boys with short crew cuts are less likely to have lice on there heads because lice don't care for light.
But the boys could have the lice on here clothes from another student.
Applying hairsprays and gels will not keep you child from getting lice. Your just wasting your money if that's the only purpose your using them for. Lice feed off of your scalp and just use the hair to lay their eggs (nits).
My best advice to you is check your daughter's head often.
The sooner you catch site of a louse or any nits the better.
PS lice killing shampoos are also a waste of money and are nothing more than poison! You are better off with the home remedies found on the internet and be diligent in picking out all the nits and CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN your house and car!

The best way to prevent lice is sparying hairspray, because lice couldn't lay eggs or hang onto her hair and don't let her share brushes and combs with anyone.

you can't really prevent it unless you want to scare her away from other kids. you could give her a phobia at that young of an age if you tell her not to share brushes because of lice.
it's really no big deal and not very common anyway.
if by some miniscule chance she gets lice, just buy lice killing shampoo.

There is no way to prevent it, thats why they spread so fast. My daughter just started first grade, well into the 2nd six weeks. The first week before school started we had to fight them. She wasnt around other kids. she was trying on backpacks at the store to see which one we wanted. Thats the only explination we could come up with. Other than trying on her school clothes that week also, when we purchased them, However i didnt get them from handling the clothing as well. So who knows, you know they can just crawl also, so you have to treat your whole house, your vehicle, everything. I have 2 daughters, so i had to treat both, both rooms, whole house, and whole car, since they both sit in back seat. Good luck.

Keep her hair washed regularly with a mild shampoo, and inspect her hair when you do this. Also, as some others have said, talk to her about sharing hats, brushes, and combs -- excellent advice :) By the way, I'm not going for "best answer," since I'm only repeating what some others said. Just wanted to reinforce their answers.

I guess you could remove all of her hair , that is the only solution I know of.But if she does get them do not load her down with chemicals that cost a fortune.Saturate her hair with baby oil.leave it on for 15-20 min.,this will even kill the eggs.wash and rinse as needed.
