I have a friend at work .. Ukrainian born, but been here for most of his life, he's 21 now and he's been here for 17 years... He just made a comment that I feel is so accurate.. " We have freedom in this country, until "they" want to bust you for something.. and then it seems like nothing is free"..
And how true that is.. we have a law regarding every aspect of our personal lives... many of us break simple laws every day weather it's driving without a seatbelt or with a cell phone to our heads.. or maybe you smoke a little pot at night when you get home from a long day at work. Or how about the small amount of cash that you make on ebay or some other such adventure.. that you forgot to claim two years ago but you just got the audit letter today ?

.Left or Right.. how free are we ?

Hey 40 year old virgin, keep driving without your seat belt. Eventually, some errant, careless driver will finally rid Yahoo Answers of your questions.

You're 40 years old and still smoke pot!? That's pretty pathetic.

What kind of dead-end job do you have that lets you smoke pot and spend all day on Yahoo answers.

I didn't know there where any Photo Shacks still around.

Hey, I have a question for you.

How much extra are double print 5x7 glossies?

Nice novella.

I never once considered that freedom entitled a citizen to commit crimes. (Maybe I should have taken a more serious look at politicians)

Freedom is individual self determination. You can enjoy the benefits of your imagination and achieve what ever you can attain.

No, I don't think we are nearly as free as we think-seems ironic we're told our soldiers are fighting for freedom while our freedoms are actually being curtailed. Yes, we still have more freedoms that many other countries but less than we once did-and less than some other countries as well. We're told we're more free than any other country but tend to ignore what freedoms we lose-because we're told they're not important.

We've always been a Nation of Laws, not the land of the "free". You have to pay your taxes and you have to follow rules made by grief stricken mothers in the US.
