This is an excellent opportunity to brush up on your pleading skills. You must prove three things about your pig:
Nobody will be allergic to it.
It will not eat so much or require expensive care of any other kind.
You will take complete care of the pig and it will not disrupt family life.
Work on these three important issues, as well as how important it is for you to have a pet to nurture, order around, and raise (prevents pregnancy in young girls) and how happy this little animal will make everyone's life.
Now, if you've already got 3 dogs, a cat and a horse, all bets are off, of course!

I don't have a pig but know a lot about them as pets. They are very challenging pets and I would do a lot of research before getting one. They get very large - even pot bellied pigs get over 100 lbs and some get over 200 lbs. Most vets don't treat them - I have a friend who is an equine vet and he is the only vet in our county that will. Many municipalities ban them as livestock - make sure they are allowed where you live. They root - both inside and out and can do a lot of damage. They also squeal very loudly. A friend of mine does pig rescue. She almost never finds anyone to adopt her adult pigs - most of them spend their remaining lives in rescue. Lots of people think they make good pets and adopt cute little piglets but they are not for everyone and a lot of people (and pigs) have gotten burned.

Even a minature one gets pretty big. Try talking with your parents and explaining to them that you have done all your reseach on the animal, know how to care for it, and WILL care for it. But please think this through carefully. They are only cute little pigletts for a very short time. They then turn into pigs. Big and hairy. If you do not like adult pigs, you will not like a potbellied pig as a adult. If you are sure, then just simple talk with your parents and let them know yo have rationally considered all the problems and work of owning one, and still would like to have it.

why do you want one? They are destructive, disobedient, they stink and will break out of any area you try to confine them. You cannot keep one pig because they are social animals,so you will need to keep 2. If you are in the UK you will not be allowed to keep one in any case unless you are a registered smallholding and have a pig licence.
It sounds rather like you are simply a spoilt brat who wants a pet without having done any research. You say you have researched, yet you still want a single pigs so either you didn't do any research or you did, but decided to go ahead with one even though you know it will be unhappy.

I own a miniature Pot Belly pig. Let me tell you, she is NOT small. She is atleast 50 pounds at minimum. They eat anything and everything. They are very smart (you can teach them tricks), but they aren't very affectionate. They also tend to "root" anywhere they like. This means they will dig up your entire yard if they please. My front yard is now a mud hole. I wouldn't suggest getting a pot belly unless you are prepared for a time-consuming hobby, you have a well-fenced in yard (ours has escaped several times). I love my piggy, but she just meant to live anywhere but a farm!

Just say, "Hey, can I get a Pot Bellied pig?" Then if they say no, wait until you move out and go buy one.

Your parents are probably worried about the mess he could make i mean just the name pig doesnt help you much. So show/tell them all you have learned about them and maybe tell them you would help to make him his own cage or do things to earn money to pay for all of this, since it may get expensive. good luck!
