Great question Sister Bear! And I get your point even if you weren't totally clear. Quite simply, an ugly spirit makes people wrinkly and unhappy inside. You know how if you shower but use the wrong kind of soap you might get all itchy? Well, an ugly spirit is like showering with the wrong kind of soap every day.
So you start complaining and words of discontent begin to run out of your lips and you just get a mean, repulsive demeanor so everyone starts to avoid you and maybe other ugly spirited folk get mean back at you.
But when you start feeling that wrinkly, itch, ugly inside, try and remember Proverbs 17:14, which states , “The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water: therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with.” And remember Hebrews 13:5, which tells us to let our conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
You'll find that ugliness just fades away!

not all ugly people are mean. it depends on the induvidual.
for those that are though:
ugly people are mean because they are insecure.
pretty people are mean, also coz they are insecure.
ugly people are insecure because they are not attractive therefore suffer rejection and disinterest quite alot more often than others and are sick of it, so they put up a shield and get nasty. its there way of keeping from getting hurt anymore. and if they are nasty enough, they hope that nobody will dare even try to insult, tease or make them feel inferior. they are unhappy with themselves and its everyone elses fault. so they let it out on people and put up a wall.
pretty people are insecure because there biggest fear is being like one of the ugly people. they put others down to make themselves feel better or more important, to hide there insecurities, to hide there fears. they can also be mean coz they actually DO think there better than others, there beauty has triggered vanity and they are nasty people because of it.
everyone has there excuses... and none of them are good reasons.

I am from the Philippines and I already heard such kind of questions here in our country.I am a good looking guy but I don't think it is right to generalize that ugly people are mean.
In my experience, there are ugly people who are mean just as there are good-looking people and fair-looking people who are mean.
Maybe it is just coincidental that you encountered ugly people who are mean. But sooner or later you'll meet those handsome/beautiful people who are mean.
By the way, in my opinion, people are mean because of painful, bitter and hard experiences in life. And there could be a number of factors too.

Because unlike enlightened individuals, a lot of people abuse "ugly" (as in not socially accepted as beautiful) people, so why on earth should THEY be nice to anyone?? All they get from everyone (because of their physical imperfections) is hatred, mistrust, and abuse!
It has long been established that if you want someone to be nice to you, you need to be nice to them. Treat others as you yourself would want to be treated.

ugly just like beauty is in the eye of the beholder....for example just about every female and some male's think brad pitt is the sexiest thing alive...me i think he's nasty looking. i have a male friend who loves women with lots of tattoo's and piercings and think women like jennifer anniston or paris hilton are real dogs..it really is whatever floats your boat. and remember...ugly is as ugly does.

Most likely becasue people have always been so mean to them that they do not know what it is like or what it feels like to be treated nicely.
