No, I don't think it's funny; I think it stinks. I get sick and tired of the media and their love affair with New York baseball, especially the ever-pathetic Yankees. As a life-long Cardinals fan, I think my team has been severly underrated, especially in the last couple of years. This year everybody loves to talk about the Mets and how they had the best record in the MLB with 97 wins, blah, blah, blah. Well, guess what? Last year and the year before that, the Cards had 100 or more wins, and I don't remember the media fawning all over them. This time around, I hope we crush the Mets in the NLCS. Then we'll see what the media has to say.
Go Cards!!!

i understand what i might opt to declare through fact i'm a die no longer elementary White Sox fan, yet pondering the way that the Mets spend funds they may be a extra useful determination. The Mets have collapsed the final 2 years in the abode stretch and characteristic tried to repair this subject with the aid of going out and signing 2 extensive hands for their pen (ok Rod and Putz). I honestly have watched ok Rod stay lots of situations and he's honestly filthy. i think of that ok Rod is an spectacular addition to the bullpen and in the event that they are able to furnish him the ball (if Putz remains healthful or doesn’t fold under the scrunity of the hot york media), he will finally end up final the door. The Mets have some staggering place gamers as properly: Reyes, Wright, and Beltran. those adult men are unreal. the only noticeable chink of their armor is their beginning pitching, they're going to honestly could make yet another pass or have somebody extremely step up (Garcia or Perez). The White Sox on the different hand have the final GM in baseball and a turning out to be quantity of youthful, much less costly expertise. So if the Mets do no longer win in the subsequent couple of years, i does no longer be stunned to make sure the White Sox heavily competing for yet another international sequence ring. beginning pitching is top for any long term success and we've some youthful hurlers that have already examined that they are able to handle the strain and would carry a collection in a playoff race (i.e. Danks and Floyd). the subject with the White Sox is that their default mode is to place self assurance in the abode run. they have too many adult men that are no longer very athletic (for this reason reason they hit in extra double performs final 12 months than the different group). i'm uncertain what they're going to be waiting to do this 12 months, yet I do think of that they are moving in the final suited direction (whether it places us out of the playoffs this 12 months). The wild card for the White Sox would be who is going to finally end up the 4th and 5th starters? If Contreras and Colon are waiting to stay healthful, the White Sox won't in basic terms win their branch, yet will heavily compete for plenty extra this season. If one or the two a sort of adult men are out, this would teach to be an prolonged season. So i assume if the Mets do no longer do it in the subsequent couple of years, then i will could say that i like the White Sox's.

You're right. The mets can't win with their shortage of pitchers. They're lucky they've even made it this far. The Yankees hitters are way to overpriced and they don't perform well in the clutch. Their pitchers aren't very good in the clutch either. How could they ever be considered for the winning the world series? If you ask me, the exact opposite of whatever that guy says will happen.

You see the thing is, that the media is paid to make predictions, and they get kudos for making bold predictions. If it pisses off fans of other teams, it just increases the buzz. However, the fact of the matter is that the Mets, have the best record in Baseball, one of the best closers, and a sick offense. The Mets have earned their "Favorite" position. The Mets also had the most come from behind wins, and the best record in Baseball when leading after six innings.
Take all of that and also see that the Mets also will become even tougher in the World Series when Cliff Floyd can DH, putting "the best defensive outfielder in the game" Endy Chavez in left.
Met Line-up with a DH
Reyes - (only 64 stolen bases)
LaDuca - .300 + hitter, very clutch
Beltran - .300 + hitter with 41 HR's
Delgado - mucho power
Wright - .300 + hitter, very clutch
Floyd - might not hit for average anymore but still a professional hitter
Green - very good hitter, hits to all fields and will hit behind a runner
Valantin - clutch with men in scoring position
Chavez - not as strong as Reyes, but just as fast
The Mets will win it all.

Being a die hard Mets fan for twenty years, I can say that we have a good shot at winning the Series, based on our offense and bullpen.
I think Detroit and Oakland have better pitching, but I think the Mets pitching is good enough to put them in a position where their high powered offense will outperform either team.
Regardless of which team gets in with the Mets, I think it will be a great series and go to game 7.

He has a reason to say that. The Yankees had a much tougher matchup than the Mets. However, the Mets showed no signs of struggling, even missin their 1 and 3 starters for the postseason. They swept the Cardinals the last time they played them, and Carpenter cant start until game 2 for the Cardinals, and besides him they have no starting pitching.

The media is always right of course. As you can see, the White Sox won the Central and the Twins won the wild card. Right? In other words, who cares? Try this article instead.

The Mets find ways to win. How can you feel good about a team that got swept by KC at the end of the season? Still glad they beat the Yankees though...
