No, Why should it be done?
I havent been Chopped and I have never had any problems whatsoever with my chappie.
Thats my bit of skin so leave it alone, as for babies no one has the right to disfigure a newborn baby for so called hygine reasons.
Keep sharp things away from our willys!!!

And why the heck are women answering this question?
It would be a bit different if they still did female circumcision wouldnt it?

It is HIS penis not yours, it is not your decision to make. You may have a legal ability to make this decision but you know you would be upset if someone had ok'd body modifying elective surgery on you.

Complications occur at a rate of about one out of ten circumcisions, while most are said to be minor (I don’t know by who’s standards), some result in serious disfigurement or loss of function or even the total loss of the penis or life of the child. (CAN YOU IMAGINE DEALING WITH ANY OF THESE RESULTS OF AN UNNECESSARY ELECTIVE SURGERY?) These things happen in even major hospitals in this country!

Some doctors do use a local some still do not. The doctors don't think it is necessary because the little guys are easy to tie down and can't get up and leave or defend themselves anyway. Plus once the cutting begins the boy goes into shock and may even quit crying.

Does it really hurt the baby? If they give him a local that will wear off in a few hours, the pain isn't just during surgery it goes on for at least a week. Have you ever had a fingernail ripped off? The pain goes on and on for days.

Just because the boy can't tell you how bad it is doesn't mean that it is not painful. If you ignore a child's crying long enough they will quit crying, as it is not doing them any good anyway, nobody is making the hurt go away.

The thing is it is such an unneeded pain. The reasons that are used for circumcising are totally false.

If a doctor says circumcision is needed, it is because he/she doesn't know or want to know how to treat an intact penis. He can make more money cutting than he can by prescribing a cream to treat whatever little problem might arise.

More and more little boys are being left intact; those that are cut are going to see that they are missing something. Some day they will look it up and find just what was taken from them, without their consent. Do you want your son to ask, "Why did you have my penis cut? What gave you that right?

I see a lot of females answer these questions, like they have so much experience with what it is like to be circumcised. They have no idea! If her clothing was to grate against her clitoris every day all day, a woman might get the beginnings of an idea. They think it is just a flap of skin; with 240 feet of nerves and 20,000 specialized nerve endings the foreskin is comparable to the female clitoris.

It comes to this; some new mothers are so damn lazy they are willing to have their new baby cut on because somebody said it is easier than cleaning him or teaching him hygiene!

Circumcision is purely a cosmetic procedure. Would you circumcise your daughter? If not, why circumcise your son? Even though my hubby is circ'd, we chose NOT to circ our son. He was born with a foreskin for a reason.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends AGAINST routine infant circumcision. There really is NO compelling medical reason to perform this as a routine procedure on a baby!

Do you know how circumcision became routine in the USA? As an attempt to stop masturbation!!!!!

Leave your child intact and teach good hygeine and safe-sex practices.

Also, circumcising a child will NOT "make him normal." He is BORN normal. The circumcision rate in the USA is approaching 50/50 now.

BTW.....my son is 7.5 years old and has never had any problems with infections. There is NO special care to be taken with an intact infant penis. DO NOT retract an infants foreskin. Doing so would be like ripping off your fingernail. It is attached to the head of the penis at that young age and becomes retractable around the time they are school-aged. ALSO.....as far as I am aware, my son has still never asked his dad why they look different. Kids are SMART. They know that not all people look the same. Looking different will not confuse them. They know people have different shapes, hair and eye color, adults have pubic hair and kids don't, etc. Any kids I know of who DID ask Dad about the difference said, "THANK YOU for not letting them do that to me Dad!"

You gotta have a sheath for your sword...
I didn't circumcise my son. He's born with that skin and I have no reason to take it off. If you teach your son to clean himself properly, then I do not believe infection will be a problem. His dad is not cut, and he's never had problems. Also, since most of us are adults here...I have been with men who were cut and men who weren't and honestly it has been better with the men who have not been cut. But another thing that's important, in my opinion, is whether or not you are. I kinda thought it was important for my son to be like his father. Just in case there was ever any confusion. But it is really up to you and your wife. Also, it is cosmetic surgery, so only military insurance will cover it. Good luck!

Apart from certain specific cases, there is absolutely no medical reason to circumcise. In fact the opposite is true. The foreskin protects the sensitive head of the penis, it's there for a reason.

I appreciate that within certain religions, circumcision is considered standard, so if your faith dictates that it should be done, then go ahead.

Religion aside, i'd just teach your child how to clean himself properly. It's an unnecessary procedure that, when you think about it, is quite barbaric.

cons - you cut off a part of his body, you didn't ask him if he was ok with it. your making his penis head less sensitive, it's only suppose to come out during arousal and it will always rub against clothes or whatever else causing it to become less senstitve. The skin under the head is most sensitive part, the tighter the cut the more of that skin you are removing
pros - people say it's cleaner but it's only cleaner if your unhygenic in first place and dont' wash just like a woman who doesn't wash her vagina or not brushing your teeth. They say it prevents cancer but it's 1 in 100 chance, so why cut 99 to save one. breat cancer is 1 in 9

No I really think boys should not be circumsized. We (Americans) do not circumsize girls and think countries that do are creating a horrible practice. So then, why should it be ok to circumsize boys?? If a boy is taught proper hygene, then there is almost no chance of bacterial infection.
And also think of the few (but they still exist) cases where the doctor slipped and basically created a female outside with male insides.... how horrible is it to live like that.

I would say no. I myself am not "cut" and haven't had any problems. They used to say that it helped with countering infections, but if you shower regularly, then you shouldn't have a problem. Men who have cirumcised when they were older claim that sexual pleasure was decreased due to less sensitive tissue. Sex was a 10, now its a 7. So far I have only had a daughter, but when I have a boy, I won't circumcise him.

I didn't circumcise my boys and they do perfectly fine with making sure to clean it. It is a personal decision. My boys have never had any kind of infection for not getting it done.

Check out www.nocirc.com for a different opinion on this contentious subject.

This site also covers "female circumcision".....and there are many areas of the planet where EXACTLY the same reasons are given for femcirc as in those in the above posts for malecirc.
