So have you always been such a doofus? You never heard of the Cold War? I suppose you consider the German/Japanese Axis powers as small countries? In case you haven't noticed, MOST nations are comparatively small next to the US. And Vietnam and North Korea were pawns of the Soviets and of the Chinese. The US has every right to protect itself from hotheaded maniacs, whether they be Barbary pirates or Muslim extremists. If you don't like it, maybe you should talk to the idiots that flew those jets into the Twin Towers. There's your real problem!

First off its "America" .....secondly, it is that all of the larger countries know the rules and play by them, they know that if they were to have a confrontation it could, and more than likely would cause unilateral destruction of the world. The real problem is the smaller, 3rd world, piss-ant countries who think they are tough and usually cause all the grief in the world. It takes the larger countries such as the U.S. and Russia, along with the rest of the U. N. Security Council to watch out for and police the smaller countries of the world, so that we can avoid just that...worldwide destruction.
