I think there is racism in the UK, especially in my area because the white people feel threatened. There is so much immigration and the immigrants want to change the UK so much that the people who have always lived here resent them. Immigrants are moving to our country and building Mosques, stopping our traditions (trying to stop Christmas lights and trees, saying we can't have piggy banks etc) and it does make it feel like our way of life is being pushed out. I don't want to lose the identity of the UK just as people in other countries wouldn't want their country changed to suit me if I moved there. I think that causes some sorts of racial hatred.

What do you mean by racial act, if you mean a hate crime, I would suppose there are an inumerable amount of reasons. Perhaps their parents brought them up that way, or there population was mostly one race, and their friends were racist. Quite honestly, racism has existed since as far back in history as we care to look. Its not goin anywhere anytime soon. You ask how one can love themself if they dont love others. I dont think this is a valid question, in fact it is quite ridiculous. Its quite simple, the nature of the human being is to further yourself at almost all costs. If that means you must hurt another in your wake, then that is what happens. This question has little to do with racism. An empirical example would be you and me. Neither of us love all people, you treat them with respect in most situations, but by no means do you love all others. Yet for some reason, we still love ourselves. I am not a racists, but I do believe that deep down, everyone simply wishes to further themselves, or their group, and this is often what we call racism. For instance, black people have affirmitive action. This is an attempt to further their race. THis could be seen as a form of racism. The truth is, racism is much different than people think, it is part of our nature. While their are extremists such as the kkk, most people simply wish to furhter themselves, or who they identify with through a common bond.

I appreciate this is utopian in thinking but IMHO people are all only one race...that being HUMAN.....perhaps we have differing pigmentation but we all have a heart that beats and lungs that fill with oxygen, but I can't stand being told someone is a different race....they don't have three heads or ten eyes so why not classify them as humans? One day maybe people will realise that there are more important things to worry about than the fact that their neighbour came from a different part of the world. Why not embrace that fact and learn about something different? Just my opinion anyway...never will I understand how one can/could be so narrow minded.

Racism is an ignorant bias towards another person for varying reasons. Most times it is sterotypical in nature. As children our enviorment helps to shape our beliefs and ideas. As adults we rely on those same ideals to guide our everyday interactions. Racism is not as open as it once was in America, now it is much more dark and secretive. As an idividual when observing an event that is racist in nature against yourself or against someone else please stand up and make yourself known and stop it if you can. Racism is a horrible ideal which will only go away if we stand against it.

As sick as this may sound it is natural. We are all born with some sort of prejudice in us. Some in the form of racism others in the form of homophobia etc...
I myself am not at all a racist but most definitely a classicist...does that make me a better person than a racist...definitely not!!! Prejudice is prejudice and the grounds on which it is passed do not justify it at all...

I think that it's who you grow up with and around. sometimes you cant help it. if you get the crap beat out of you by a black person or even a red head or something you may have a tendancy to hate people who look like them
Edit: Yes, we should love everyone.

Love all?? lol yea right. Who wants to love ppl who come over from other places and then have the nerve to tell "us" the way it should be?? I say send those kind of ppl back to where they came from. Besides, in my company we are eliminating everything but white. Having asians work mean a lazy outcome.
Bottem line!
