What is the factor that makes people rich? suppose some people say that he/she is very luck that she got xyz job, but reality would be the other way round. hardwork, patience, dedication and focus would have made him/her achieve that position. My question is, Is that luck makes the difference(rich) or can we make that defference(rich) ourself?

My wealth came from a lot of hard work... back and brain power... also when I've put a plan in place to make money... there is some luck involved... I have done my best in small real estate investments... sort of like "flip this house"... instead I turn them into to rentals... my luck was finding these properties... years later these properties are paid off and their vaules are 10 fold... the income now is pocket money... to spend or re-invest... real estate always grows in value... I'm a good landlord... I maintain my properties as if they were my own... More on your question... there are people that fall into a great jobs and it's pretty much being in the right place at the right time... ya know... to complete my point you got to get out there... be ready, available and never settle for what you have at that time... keep your mind set toward advancing... once you are where you want to be... don't relax for the ride... there will always be someone on your heels wanting what you've got... it's up to you and maybe a little luck will come your way.

Hard work, persistance, and a dream/goal are how people become successful. This may or not make them rich, but then, some people put less value on being rich then for example, being respected or helping others.

I suppose luck would help you win the lottery, but you would still have to persistantly buy the tickets. I don't put much stock in the lottery.

There is an assertion that ,were we to evenly divide all the money, within 10 years those that are rich now would be rich again. Correspondingly, those that are poor now would be poor again.
Ergo, given your two possibilities, it would have to be self made destinty.
Unless it is inheirited wealth.
Or astounding luck, i.e. a lottery win.
So I guess the answer to your question is "Lots of money makes people rich"!

I think it can be luck, self made or a combination. Someone can work their a$$ off and become rich or they could by chance win the lottery.
You could say someone who was born into a family that taught them to work hard and make money was lucky.
You could be a hard worker, but by stroke of bad luck never end up really succeeding monetary wise.

I dont think there a definative answer to this. Look at Bill Gates, did not finish college, was in right place at right time and had a great idea to lease the software he aquired rather than sell it. Luck definately plays apart.

Hard work...

plain and simple. I've seen a few people start off dirt poor, with out even a HS diploma, that are now worth millions due to hard work.

Nothing good comes easy.
