if it used to run fast...
1. it could be you need to clean your system up by going under add remove programs and removing software you no longer use. 2. Also could be adware get adaware or microsoft adware and clean your system up.
3. could be virus make sure you do virus scan and clean it up if needed.
4. Try defragmenting your drive.
4. Last resort do a reformat of the operating system after backing up your files of course.
If it was not running that fast to begin with ....and / or your reformat did not help
1. you may need more or faster memory added to your PC
2. your hard drive may need to be replaced.
3. your processor or pc may need to be replaced.

Your PC is probably using all it's memory! You can add more to it buy more memory from the computer manufacter and ask for How to install instructions! Then do it, or have someone do it for ya!
