It is wishful thinking.... I remember in Highschool one day cutting class with my best friend and going to a bridal shop and pretending to be shopping for her wedding...We did not make a purchase we just said we had to take our best picks to her mom for approval... The only bad luck rumor I know of is that the groom is not suposed to see the bride in the dress before the wedding... I think window shopping for a dress could be fun and all but I would not buy the dress because if you have it for any length of time you might have a changed mind in what kind of dress you want.... so even tho it is not unlucky it might creep out your future dates if they knew you already had the dress...they might see you as being too pushy or clingy... just have fun...
you will find your groom when the time is right...don't rush it...
and have fun window shopping...

I don't get it...that is called shopping.
You see it and you buy it, then you wear it at your wedding.
Of course you have to buy the dress before your wedding.
Now...are you asking about buying a wedding dress before the guy even ASKS you to get married? Probably not a good idea. You will change your mind over and over again about a dress.
The only bad luck about buying a wedding dress is that you are wasting your money.

Why are you buying a dress now for if theres nothing on the horizon,as your taste, weight etc could change by the time you do get married and i wouldn't want prospective boyfriends to look in the closet etc and see a wedding dress!

No its not bad luck. You have to get the dress before the wedding. I do not believe in bad luck. It is whats in your mind. Either its going to happen or it isnt.

You mean before anybody ever even thinks about marrying you? It's not bad luck but it may make you anticipate it too much and start getting impatient and frustrated because then you'll be looking for someone to marry you. It may also cuz you to settle because you are just going to want to get married so bad. Plus you don't know when you'll get married so you don't know if you'll be the same size by then.
Just like I see baby stuff and want to buy it so bad. However, I don't want to get my hopes up and get me anymore impatient as I am now so I don't buy it.

Maybe not bad luck but in my opinion stupid. One may NEVER get married, so what would the dress be used for? To cut up and make doilies?

I don't believe this is bad luck... but how do you know your taste won't change by the time you are getting married? Or maybe even your waist line, or bust line...
