becuz it is a pick up designed to have weight but into the bed and therefore the truck will level out if it wasnt like that then the truck would sag causing driving problems when the bed was loaded with stuff.

Oh, and if you have a load in the back, it won't look stupid when the rear springs compress a little bit to handle the load.

it s done this way so that when you put a load on it ,that it wont set way down in the rear,, if they didn't make them a little bit higher you couldn't use them to haul in they would all ride to low,good luck i hope this help,s

This is due to the springs and the weight it can haul
