i don't like the fit of dress shoes (wingtips etc) and i have to wear a suit sometimes. when i do, i was wondering if anyone thought it would be acceptable/professional to wear some black pumas with a black suit (other color suits matching as well too) I SAW JOHN LEGUIZAMO DO THIS ON ER quite often. He would wear them all the time with dress pants and suits. I am going to be a psychologist, by the way to get an idea of how professional that this would be.

It depends on what you do. People who are professionals that do a lot of running, like designers, doctors, stylist, detectives etc. do it. Otherwise, it might be considered a fashion faux pas.
There are other comfy shoes that are not quite wing tip and not quite tennis shoes. Ask a personal shopper at your local department store to help you with comfort and fashion. It is usually a free service and it is a WAY under used service...
Otherwise, just wear them in your office. Change out like Mr. Rogers did. No one will see your feet under your desk.

This depends on the particular shoe. I have some sweet Vans which go great with a suit. Obviously just make sure it matches.
