ok here is my whole take on the gender equality issue.

Pertaining to your question... yes it is ok for a girl to play football.

What I do not agree with is the fact that women are allowed to play on mens soccer teams, mens basketball teams, and other mens events. If there are two seperate teams for genders, then women should only be allowed to play in the womens league. Now if there isn't a womens teams (as with football) then I have no problem with a woman playing football.

Now I know many people will say, well what if the woman is good enough to play with the men, or better than her competition with women? I don't agree this is a fair way to compete.

The way I look at it if there are two leagues and a woman is allowed to play in a mens league, then to be equal men should be allowed to play in the womens league. How is it equal and fair to allow one gender to play in another genders league, but then to go and restrict the converse relationship of a man playing in a women's league? To me that is like the old south where a white could go into a colored restroom but a colored (I don't mean that in a racist manner, that was the term used) couldn't go in a whites restroom. Both are forms of discrimination, yet for some reason one is still allowed.

Physically football is to physical a sport for women to play. Women do not have the same physical strength as men (cant argue with biology) . Now I have no problem with women playing football against other women. Physically and naturally that is OK. But to put women on a football field with men is a injury timeout waiting to happen.

I am a firm believer that anyone can do anything they put their mind to.

Yes. When I was in High School we played Powder Puff football games. Real football, in our stadium, with paying spectators. We were coached by male coaches. Believe me, girls can be rough and brutal. No one was worried about makeup or hairspray. Just football and winning. I played 2 years and it was great! No one thought it was odd. Just a chance to see another football game!

Sure. There will be very few women playing in college and none in the pros for a long time though. It has nothing to do with gender inequality, just the physical nature. There aren't a lot of women out there who are 300lbs and can bench press 450lbs.

I think women can do anything they put their minds to. There just happens to be this great female place kicker for an american high school football team, and she was just voted homecoming queen, and she accepted the award with her pads and cleats on, and all of her male football teammates cheered her on, so yes, I think it is neat.

If a girl shows she is deserving to be on a football field at any level, I say put her out there.

if they're good enough to play, why not? the nfl is so competitive, it seems unlikely that many women would be strong enough to earn a roster spot. the most likley position for a woman would be a kicker/punter. but i think women should be allowed to play any position if they are good enough.

Hell Yes!

Anyone should be able to practise whatever talents they have and enjoy themselves doing whatever makes them happy! One of my close friends from Uni was on the English Woman's Rugby Team! No one should be stopped from doing something they love.
