I've never watched soap operas.....Does anyone have any suggestions?? I was wondering which ones would be easiest to get into having not known previous storylines...

AMC....All My Children...has been on since the mid 70's!! Story lines are easy to follow (right now there is a baby mystery going on(who's the daddy?) There is also a murder mystery (who killed greg madden) There is also alot of funny scene's,some scene's take place at Fusion (cosmetic company on the show with half the girls,and the REALLY do have a cosmetic line @ WALMART!!) And Con-fusion (the newly opened bar below fusion) It comes on eveyday at 1pm (here in PA) on ABC. People like Erika Kane (Susan Lucci, has been on the show since the first episode!!she has 2 daughters...Kendall & Bianca (bianca lives in Paris, but is coming back this week or next week!) And Erika also has a son (Josh madden...when Erika went in back in the 70's for an abortion, the doctor "greg madden" kept her embryo and raised her son!! she didnt find out till just recently it was her son and now it's the mystery...who killed greg madden?) But again...great easy lines and character's to follow!! Adam Chandler has ALOT of kid's!! And him & Krystal and expecting (but who's the daddy? Adam or her 1 night stand with Tad martin?! Good luck!! And if you have SOAPNET AMC comes on at 8pm.
If you are looking for a stupid corny soap with witches and couldron's you should watch..Passion's on NBC @ 2pm.

A soap opera virgin...sounds like an oxymoron to me. If you've never watched them before long you'll understand what I mean. Why watch them, you should instead read books, go out for lunch with friends, find a hobby, do anything that you can't normally do when your kids are home. Soap opera's repeat the same old story lines every few years, they are about shallow, whiny people who's lives don't even approximate real lives. It's better that you spend your time on yourself doing something worthwhile not getting involved in that fantasy garbage.

General Hospital is the best one, it comes on at 2 in the afternoon, and goes off at 3, on ABC. That is my all time favorite soap, at times I watch One Life to Live also, it comes on before GH.

PASSIONS IS THE BEST SOAP OPERA EVER and if u do decide to watch the sexiest person on that show is ethan

well i watch passions on NBC i don't know if you would Be able to get into it. it has your basic cat fights and drama but it also has some funny parts in it to. it has some witches on the show that like to heat things up for the other people in the show. or you might like the ones on CBS like young and the restless, bold and the beautiful, as the world turns, and guiding light. NBC also has days of our life. ABC has one life to live, all my children,and general hospital. i don't know what you like but I'm sure they all have there drama to them but if i were you i watch passions it has some really hot eye candy on there.

Soap operas suck...they're all the same and you can jump in at any time...it takes them a week to get through the lamest crap...my wife used to watch a couple of them, and if I had a day off work I'd see what was going on. Two months later, I'd have another day off and watch, and I'm like "WTF? They're still..." whatever?!
