Wireless and broadband are two separate things.
Broadband is delivered through your phone line and requires a modem between the phone socket and your computer. The modem can either be one with a USB connection to your PC, or it can be built into a router. The router connects to your PC by network - either wired or wireless. If you are buying a wireless broadband package you will be given a wireless capable router which has an in-built modem.
To connect your PC wirelessly you need to have a wireless device in your PC. If you have a laptop and its fairly new, there's a good chance it'll be built in. Go to Control Panel, then select Network Connections. If you have wireless built in there will be an entry here that says "Wireless Network Connection".
If you don't have wireless built in, you'll need either a USB wireless adaptor (suitable for both desktop PC and laptop) or, if you have a desktop PC you could opt to have an internal PCI wireless adaptor. A USB adaptor is the easiest.
One note of caution if your PC is old - wireless is not compatible with the original version of Windows98. It WILL work with WIndows 98SE and later (including Win2000, ME, XP).

If you have a wireless adapter and your computer isn't more than 5 years old then you should be compatible. If you don't have a wireless adapater you can buy one fairly cheap to plug into your USB port.
